Lake CX 301

Featuring a slightly narrower toe box & tighter heel than the Competition last and less overall volume than the Sport last. Designed for very high-cadence riding & higher pressure and a slimmer fit.

LAKE CX301

It has been 3 years, since I’ve experienced the Lake cycling shoe and I was excited about demoing the CX 301 cycling shoe. As in all other like cycling shoes, they are designed for performance, comfort and lasting durability as is nothing less than I expected from the CX 301. The 301 is very streamlined and is more of a minimalist type shoe which has a single boa for a perfect customize fit due to the Boa L6 side mounted system. It has a very tight but form fitted custom fit due to the wraparound design and the very precise lines that are a lot less bulky than most shoes I’ve used in the past. The Streamlined fit gives the rider very comfortable and tight feel without any excessiveness just exactly what you need for a performance and maximized stability without all the extras. The foot is stable not only in the front with the boa L6 but the heel cup is very narrow and prevents the foot from any forward movement increasing the power transfer while pedaling. The microfiber material is lightweight and has a true sense of breathability along with a quality material giving it lasting durability for thousands of miles to come. Lake shoes has a 100% carbon fiber sole that has excellent power transfer with no loss of any wattage whether climbing, sprinting or just riding. These 301’s are compatible with all three-bolt cleat system and come in three colors (white, black and yellow) which I demoed the black. Based upon their quality and high performance, they’re reasonably priced for around $329. Overall, the Lake CX301 are an excellent cycling shoe with superior performance and energy transfer system that is highly durable for reasonable price
